mood, setting the moooood!
Hi all:
Long time no write in!
I am working on something that is a genre I never thought I would
write, horror! Normally I wouldn't even dream of it, but strangely
enough, I kept having dreams of these characters and would wake up
terrified, and sweaty, just like I feel after reading the latest
Stephen King thriller, etc. This morning, after waking up after
another one of these dreams and not being able to get back to sleep
for the umteenth time, I got up and made a variety of notes. the
problem is that when I sat down to write the prologue, or start
writing the prologue, that I can't capture the feelings of dread
and terror that were in my dream. Of course it's entirely possible
that I will capture this mood more fully when I start the actual
story, but right now I feel my writing is flat, and lacks the mood I
want it to have. Do you all have any tips on creating a mood for
writing? Do you get the main story line down first, then go back
and put more mood in? I hate flat writing and fear that will be all
I get and it won't match the terror I feel.

OK so here is the question of the hour. When you write, how do you do it?
* by hand
* on a computer or other word processor
* in stone
* on toilet paper?
No seriously, I'm very interested in this. I am working on a story and am having difficulties deciding whether or not my thoughts flow more freely on paper or on the computer.

story for young adult lit
Welcome to
Firstly, any of you steal my stuff, I'll cut off important body parts and feed them to my dog. Right! Now that's out of the way!! You know I love ya!
This story I hnad to write for my young adult lit class. The ending is corny, I knew I shouldn't have added this bit at the end but oh well, it will
get changed, eventually!
